Reed City senior remains optimistic
REED CITY — Alexis Van Eck is among the Reed City seniors trying to provide key leadership for the Coyote volleyball team this season.
It’s been a young team for the Coyotes who have been trying to find their identity and improve throughout the season.
“It’s been going pretty good,” Van Eck said, “with both hitting and communicating.”
The Coyotes have been using VanEck as a leftside hitter and back row right player.
“I was a front-row right last year, so this is different,” she said.
Passing has been a strength.
“You have to have a strong platform,” Van Eck said, adding that she’s improved “a lot” from last year. She’s also hoping to hit the ball more accurately.
Reed City is home Thursday against Big Rapids and Shelby.
“We could have better communication with teammates,” she said.
The Coyotes are looking to be strong by district time.
