Reed City senior confident of more success for volleyball team

REED CITY — Hanna Price is among the seniors on the Reed City volleyball team looking to end the season on a strong note in the next few weeks.

The Coyotes have been trying to get more wins and have lost several close matches including a 3-2 setback to Big Rapids.

Earlier in the season, a win at Lakeview was a highlight for the Coyotes, who then lost another tough match in late September to Pine River.

“We weren’t as intense as we were when we got the win against Lakeview,” Price said after the Pine River match. “We talked a lot more. We’ve gotten better every time we’ve played. We’re making progress. We’ve had a lot of close games with really good teams at tournaments. We’re getting better...really everywhere. We’re a good defensive team. Offensively, we’ve been working on that a lot. We’re really getting better at every aspect of the game.”

Price was at libero last season. This year, she’s an all-around player.

“It’s the first year I’ve really hit,” she said. “It’s new, but I like it. It’s timing, keeping the ball in front of you. That’s what I need to work on.”

The Coyotes continue with regular-season action for the rest of the month before entering district action in November.
