REED CITY — Senior Jett White is in his fourth year of track for Reed City and is focusing on having his best season.

A highlight last year for the Reed City pole vaulter was getting over 10 feet and competing in the regionals.

“That’s pretty much my main event,” he said. “I also run the 100 and 200.”

This season, White hopes to vault high enough to qualify for the state meet. He’s looking at 12 feet.

“It will take focusing,” he said. “I need more of a plant for my feet when I vault.”

The Coyotes are scheduled to have home meets on Thursday and on Tuesday, weather permitting, on the new track.

“Last year, we had a rollout runway so we could still practice,” White said.

He also played football and he did some running during the offseason to get ready this spring.
