REED CITY – Howie Lodholtz has  been among the area’s most active ice fishermen this winter

The Reed City area resident showed a picture of a very impressive fish catch he recently landed in Lake County.

Anglers are generally reporting around 4 to 6 inches on various lakes, but are advised to be as cautious as possible.

Lodholtz is a very active member of the Reed City Sportsman Club. He started in the winter league trap and skeet shoots over the weekend.

The clubgrounds are located off of U.S. 10 just east of Reed City. It's the main activity for the club right now. The league activity continues until the spring. It’s been estimated the league comes from all over. Club officials have said the league attracts up to more than 100 shooters. Competitors come from all over.

Other area clubs which offer shoots are Mecosta County Rod & Gun Club, Barryton Conservation Club and the Lake County Sportsman Club. Interested persons should consult with respective websites of these clubs for more information.
