Reed City hurler fires no-hitter against Ludington

REED CITY – Reed City enjoyed a pair of nonleague softball wins against Ludington on Tuesday, May 31,with Paityn Enos firing a no-hitter in the second contest.

Both teams were strong in the circle in game 1 with Reed City getting the win over Ludington 2-1. Isabell Guy got the win going seven innings, allowing eight hits and one run while striking out 14 and walking one.

At the plate, Rylie Shafer and Kenzie Shoemaker led the way with two hits each. Enos and Kyleigh Weck had one hit each.

In Game 2, Reed City defeated Ludington 13-1 as Enos threw a no-hitter, giving up one run, and no earned runs while striking out four and walking one in five innings.

At the plate Rylie Shafer, Hayden Cutler and Kayla Montague led the way with two hits each. Enos, Kenzie Shoemaker, Kaylin Goodman, Hannah Stellini and Kyleigh Weck all had hits.

Cutler led the way with three RBIs, while Shafer, Stellini and Guy all had two RBIs each.

EVART – Evart improved to 20-5 with this predistrict win on Tuesday May 31.  

The winning pitcher, Addy Gray, pitched a complete game. She allowed two hits and fanned 12 batters. Katelyn Gostlin drove in five runs. She had a home run and a single.
