Reed City golfers second in conference

CEDAR SPRINGS - The Big Rapids boys have won their 16th straight Central State Activities Association championship.

Big Rapids shot a 336 on Wednesday in the conference tourney at Cadillac. Luke Welch won low medalist (73).

Reed City was fourth at 401 and Chippewa Hills fifth at 403.

Fischer Morrison led Reed City with an 86, followed by Nick Wirgau (98), Michael Perri (103), Hunter McConnell (114) and Isiah Zelinski (102).

Alex Ehnis, David Remus and Zach Wernette led Chippewa Hills (100) followed by Cameron Morgan (103) and Brandon Slasser (104).

Big Rapids was first in final team standings at 1,671. Reed City was second at 1,894 and Chippewa Hills fourth at 1,994.

Morrison was the No 2 ranked golfer for the season behind Welch. Wirgau was No 6 and both were first-team all-conference. Perri was honorable mention.
