REED CITY — Reed City’s summer softball team took a pair of wins over Tri County on Thursday.

Reed City won the first game 16-13. Maddie Morgan went the first three innings on the mound. Hanna Kaverman went the next two innings.

Kiera Barker, Devin Willard and Cassie Enos had three hits apiece. Morgan, McKalla Mondrella and Hannah Smith had two hits apiece. Abby Morgan, Lilly Andres and Kaverman had one hit each.

In the second game, Reed City won 14-5. Veronica Lofquist was the starter and went two innings. Maddie Morgan went three innings and Kaverman closed out the game.

Barker had four hits. Willard had three hits. Lofquist and Smith contributed two hits apiece. Maddie Morgan, Enos, Mondrella, Abby Morgan and Andres had one hit each.

“I’m excited, there’s so many exciting things going on about Reed City softball,” Reed City coach Roger Steig said. “We have 16 girls for these games and we platooned all 16. We played outstanding ball no matter who was in the game. Tri County has a very good squad. The girls played outstanding. I’m happy with what’s going with Reed City softball.”
