LAKEVIEW — The Reed City girls basketball team returned to action with a victory over Lakeview, 66-44.

The Coyotes are now 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the Central State Activities Association.

Kalee Hensel and Emma Lockhart each tallied 15 points to pace the Coyotes. Karah Hensel added eight points and Tia Lintemuth recorded six.

Kalee Hensel also handed out four assists, grabbed four rebounds and had three steals. Lockhart finished with five steals, five assists and four boards.

Reed City led 32-24 at halftime before outscoring the Wildcats 19-6 in the third quarter to take a 51-30 lead going into the final eight minutes.

The Coyotes are in action Friday when they travel to Chippewa Hills.

Morley Stanwood 50, White Cloud 29

WHITE CLOUD — A balanced effort led the Morley Stanwood girls basketball team to a 50-29 victory over White Cloud.

The Mohawks are now 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the Central State Activities Association.

Mekayla Carey paced the Mohawks with 11 points, while Lindsey Veersma netted 10 and Brett Chesebro eight. All 10 players dressed scored for the Mohawks.

Morley Stanwood is in action Friday when it hosts Big Rapids.

Pine River 53, Lake City 17

LAKE CITY — The Pine River girls basketball team had little trouble in rolling past Lake City, 53-17.

The Bucks led 30-4 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Pine River is now 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the Highland Conference.

Jamie Justin led Pine River with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kassie Nelson tallied nine points, Devyn Powell added eight and Cayman Gatt seven.

Powell also had four steals, while Gatt finished with five assists and four steals.

Pine River is in action Friday when it hosts Beal City.
