Reed City girls defeat Tri County

HOWARD CITY — Free throw shooting was key for Reed City in Friday’s 53-49 win over Tri County in Central State Activities Association Gold Division action.

Reed City hit all four free throws in the closing minute.

“We’ve had close games where we didn’t make the free throws, but this was a big confidence booster for us,” Reed City coach Brian Koopman said.

Emily Libey led Reed City with 16 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Lauren Voelker with 12 points and six rebounds and Alyssa Olds with 10 points.

“We scored over 50 points and (what’s hurt Reed City) has been scoring,” Koopman said in lauding his team’s offensive effort.
