Reed City girls compete at Glen Lake

REED CITY — Reed City’s volleyball team was 0-2-3 at the Glen Lake Invitational on Saturday.

Reed City split with Glen Lake 25-20, 20-25, lost to Kalkaska 25-16, 25-23, split with East Jordan 25-12, 21-25 and split with Northport 25-21, 19-25. In bracket play, Reed City lost to Glen Lake 25-22, 25-23.

Alyssa Olds had three aces and 55 digs while Meghan Borst had 22 kills, four aces and 44 digs, Madelyn Brown had two aces and 28 digs, Jordyn Storch six aces, 17 digs and 91 assists; Sidni Rushford six kills and four aces; Madelyn Mora with 14 kills and 10 aces, Allison Obermeier with nine kills and two blocks; Alexis VanEyk with two aces and seven digs; Kierra Barker with four aces and 14 digs; Allison Duddles with three kills and three blocks.

“I thought at times we played very well,” Reed City coach Don Patterson said. “We’re still making too many errors. I saw definite progress over the weekend. We continue to improve. If we can minimize the errors, we’ll be significantly better by the end of the year.”

Reed City fell to Grant 25-15, 25-15, 25-12 in Central State Activities Association Gold Division action on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Olds had two aces and nine digs, Borst had five kills and 12 digs; Storch one kill, eight digs and 23 assists; Obermeier five kills and three digs; Rushford had seven kills and three digs; Mora had two kills and five assists and Duddles had five kills.

Reed City is at Glen Lake on Saturday.
