Reed City football team ready for playoffs

Teams that have qualified for the football playoffs found out their opponents on Sunday.
In first-round games this week, most likely on Friday, Grayling (6-3) is at Reed City (8-1) and Chippewa Hills (7-2) is at Clare (8-1) in District 5, Region 1, District 2. The two winners would meet on Nov. 3-4 for the district title.
Chippewa Hills hosted Clare and won at home 32-27 in a first-round playoff game last season.
Reed City has won eight straight games.
“I'm glad we're in and I'm glad we have the opportunity to host,” Reed City coach Monty Price said. “Like always it's one game at a time. It's about playing your best football, staying healthy and not turning the ball over.”
Chippewa Hills coach Larry Joses acknowledged facing a similar playoff scenario to last season.
“It's going to be a tough road as it is every year,” he said. “We open up against Clare again, 8-1. They're playing great football. We'll have to up our game.

The regionals finals are Nov. 10-11, followed by the state semifinals on Nov. 17-18 and the state finals Nov. 24-25.
