REED CITY — Taylor Weiss is hopeful of a big week of hitting for the Reed City Coyotes.

Weiss has been used as designated hitter for the Coyotes during the season and has been enjoying various degrees of success.

It’s his junior season and he’s been hitting the ball effectively in his first varsity season.

“I’ve adjusted well,” he said, adding that the key has been “Keeping your eye on the wall.”

Postion wise, he’s playing left or right field.

“We need to keep playing like we have our last four games,” he said earlier this month after a split against Big Rapids in a home twinbill.

Weiss had some key hits in that doubleheader, which the Coyotes almost swept. Since then, they’ve trying to get more wins. They’re at home Wednesday against Central Montcalm. Saturday, they’re at the Pine River district.

The key in continuing to hit the ball, Weiss said, is focusing on the pitch.
