Reed City (5-0) has been CSAA champs nine of the last 10 seasons.

Central Montcalm lost to Grant on Friday, giving Reed City a two-game lead with one league contest to play. This means the Coyotes will win sole possession of first place.

It was 16-6 after the first quarter, 38-6 at halftime and 46-6 after the third

Reed City had 289 yards rushing. Noah Jones had 11 carries with 174 yards and three TDs. Trent Livermore had five carries for 53 yards. Alex Wirgau added a rushing touchdown.

Teddy Cross led the defense with nine tackles. Payton Hanson had four tackles and an interception for a touchdown. Jackson also had an interception.

“We started a little slow but we picked it up and played really good defense after the first quarter,” Reed City coach Scott Shankel said. “On offense, we’re still rolling real well with everything. We still have some things to work on.

“It’s a nice road win and we’re league champs again. We’re happy for that.”

Reed City is home next Friday with Grant to end the regular season.
