Reed City baseball team too much for Grayling

REED CITY – Reed City’s bats exploded in 23-5 and 14-4 wins over Grayling on Friday.

RC had 13 hits in the first game. Max Hammond had two hits with four runs scored, Xavier Allen had two hits with two RBIs and three runs scored, Payton Hansen had three hits, including a home run and six RBIs and three runs scored, Isaiah Moore had a hit and two RBIs, Noah Morgan had a hit, three RBIs and two runs scored, Bryson Hughes had three hits, including a grand slam, three runs scored and five RBIs.

Xavier Allen was the winning pitcher, with four innings, allowing seven hits, five runs and striking out seven.

The first game went four innings while the second went five.

Reed City had 12 hits.

Hammond had two hits with two runs and two RBIs, Allen had three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored, Canyon Reed and Hansen had a hit, Trent Howell had two hits, Bryce Wein had a home run, and Bryson Hughes had two hits.

Hansen went four innings and allowed six hits, four unearned runs and striking out four. Evan Pullen pitched an inning.

“I was good to see our bats erupt,” Reed City coach Eric Grannis said. “We were putting the ball all over the place. We made pitchers give us the pitch we wanted and then we capitalized.”

Reed City is 15-10-1 and is home Wednesday with White Cloud.
