REED CITY —  The public is invited to attend a chicken and turkey shoot on Sept. 27 at the Reed City Sportsman Club.

Frozen turkeys and chickens will be given away, club secretary Terry Getts said. There will be a charge per 15-shot round. Participants can shoot skeet or trap. The event will start at 10 a.m.

“They can just show up and we’ll point them at the right direction,” Getts said. The event goes until 5 p.m. and participants can come at any time.”

“It’s a big, fun shoot,” Getts said. “We do it every year, twice a year.”

Getts added the club is working on a new skeet house.

“By 10 days, it should be done,” he said.

Another money shoot is scheduled for Saturday. It’s only for registered members of the American Trap Shooting Association.

“It’s a pretty good-sized shoot,” Getts said. “A lot of people show up for that. They come from all over. If there’s a money shoot, you’re going to have a crowd.”
