EVART — It was a fun season for the Evart Wildcats, and standout infielder Donavin Reagan and his teammates didn’t want it to end.

Two weeks ago, the Wildcats clinched the first Highland Conference title in 23 years and their first district in 11 seasons. They lost in the regional finals to Beaverton on Saturday 3-2 in eight innings. The final record was 30-7.

Reagan, a junior first baseman, made huge offensive and defensive contributions to the Wildcat attack.

“It’s been wonderful,” Reagan said. “I’ve been at first base doing my job there. My length and height is a strength. I’ve been hitting pretty well.”

Entering the district, Reagan was confident his team could have a strong postseason.

“If we’re going to have the energy I think we can go very far,” Reagan said. “Our strength has been our energy and being able to keep going.”
