LEROY — Chad Bollman of Marquette was the LeRoy Razzasque Days 5K Race winner earlier in the month, officials announced recently.

Bollman had a time of 18:20.

“Five years ago,  Eddie Bollman of Marion won this race,” race official Jan Burch said. “Eddie was killed (recently) in an automobile accident. His parents and friends celebrated his life by doing something he loved.”

Chad Bollman is Eddie’s brother, Burch noted.

Jeff Bellville of Evart was second at 19:43 while Ben Rigling of Tustin was third in 20:08 and Derek Hartline of Tustin fourth in 20:29.

Dana Sherry of Negaunee was fifth in 21:46 and Maria Hoffman of Colorado Springs, the top woman’s runner, was seventh in 21:59.

David Derscheid of Evart was eighth in 22:47, Maurice Hicks of Allegan ninth in 22:50 and Nate Martin of Custer 10th in 23:04.

Other local finishers included Ethan Spray of LeRoy, who was 13th in 24:01; Josh Smith of Evart, who was 15th in 24:57; Sam Penices, who was 17th in 25:25 and Francisca Webster of Luther, who was 18th in 25:28.

Also, James Thomas of Evart was 21st in 25:50, Issac McKinley of Tustin 26th in 27:04, Jessica Baker of Tustin 29th in 28:09, Rachel DePew of Reed City 33rd in 28:36 and Eden Killingbeck of Reed City 34th in 28:37.

Burch said there were 85 finishers.

“The youngest was Mariska Larsen (3) of Norway and the oldest was Ken Vanderberg (72) of Hersey,” Burch said.
