MARION — Pine River’s baseball team took 13-2 and 15-6 Highland Conference victories over Marion on Monday, April 30.

The first game went six innings.

Tyler Shimel had three hits and two RBIs for the Bucks while Shimel had three hits and two RBIs, Luke Hill had two hits and two RBIs. Lane Ruppert had two hits and a double. Andrew Park had a double and RBI and Caleb Bowman had two hits and an RBI.

Hill was the winning pitcher, striking out nine and scattering two hits.

Park had three doubles and three RBIs in the second game. Bowman and Shimel both had a single and two RBIs Ruppert added a double.

Dustin Marks was the winning pitcher, allowing no earned runs and striking out three.

Softball Bucks lose

Pine River suffered 8-7 and 3-2 losses to Marion on April 30.

Mackenzie Denton was the losing pitcher in the first game. She struck out nine and allowed six hits. Emily Treiber, Emma Whitley and Maddie Martin had hits for the Bucks.

Whitley took the loss in the second game. She allowed four hits and three walks and struck out three. Bekah Dean had three hits while KayLee Goodman had two hits.

Pine River is 4-5.
