
LEROY — Pine River’s girls softball team lost to Frankfort 13-3 in the first game Monday of a nonleague doubleheader.
Jenna Johnson and Alexis Bennett had two hits for the Bucks.
Pine River lost the second game 19-0. Chelsey TerBurgh, KayLee Goodman and Dana Hill had hits for the Bucks. Kourtney Brock and Dana Hill were the pitchers.
Big Rapids 11, 20, Pine River 6, 10
The Cardinal bats produced an 11-6 and 20-10 sweep over Pine River on Wednesday. The second game ended after five innings.
Brooke Doerr was the winning pitcher in both games.
Lexi Nowak had two hits while Sam Spring and Kailey Jones had one apiece.
Pine River (3-3) led 8-0 going into the bottom of the third when Big Rapids (3-5) scored 11 runs. Emma Graves and Kayla Chamberlain had three hits apiece, while Chamberlain added four RBIs. Alexis Lyman had two hits.
“We hit pretty decent,” Pine River coach Laura Mumby said. “We’re settling into positions.”
Alexis Bennett and Kourtney Brock pitched the first game for Pine River while Bekah Dean and Dana Hill threw in the second.
