LEROY — Pine River senior pitcher Alexis Bennett was very stingy when it came to allowing hits from the opposition this season.

Bennett was one of four Bucks named to the Highland Conference all-league first team. She threw two no-hitters and three one-hitters this season, and pitched 15 games with three hits or less.

“She only gave up 13 extra base hits all season,” Mumby said. “Yes, she had too many walks but 13-6 is a good record and 217 strikeouts is impressive with only 62 hits given up.”

The Bucks were 8-4 in the Highland Conference and 16-18 overall.

Also on the first team were KayLee Goodman, Bekah Dean and Hannah Hill. Cayla Trowbridge earned honorable mention honors.

Dean, a junior third baseman, batted .467 with an on-base percentage of .510 and 34 RBIs.

“She moved to catcher due to a need on the team," Mumby said.

Goodman is a junior shortstop who batted. .376 with an on-base percentage of .477 and had 23 RBIs.
