“We played a decent game,” said Pine River coach Jenny Hoaglund. “There were some things that didn’t quite go our way that made a little bit of a difference. Nothing we can do about it. But they’ve definitely improved. We’ve been better with our passing. There’s definitely been improvement and we’re seeing things. Too bad it’s getting toward the end of the season.”

“We got in some good scoring,” said Clare coach Doug Helmling. “We made some good opportunities up front. I think we squandered a few. It’s been nice to have the ball bounce our way a little bit. Defensively, we looked sharp but we had some guys hurting and guys playing out of position.”
