LEROY – Nate Millen has had a quite a season for the Pine River boys soccer team and it’s not quite over yet.

Millen scored three goals in a recent Pine River victory over Fife Lake. He has 16 goals in his senior season. His previous high in a season was three goals.

“I think coaching has quite a bit to do with it,” he said. “It’s definitely a team effort. Without the team, nobody would be able to score.”

During the off season, Millen worked on his game.

“Me and Eric Martin, one of the captains that played up in Cadillac has helped quite a bit,” said Millen. “I think I can shoot pretty well. We can pass very well. That’s definitely helped.”

The Bucks have enjoyed more winning success this season.

“Definitely team work has helped. It’s been a lot of fun,” Millen said. “I hope to get a few more goals and I hope everyone on the team gets to score at least once. We have very good offense and very good defense.”
