LEROY — Much like their counterparts from Evart and Reed City, the Pine River football team also began its final preparation for the new campaign on Monday.
Coach Terry Martin said he was happy with the way the offseason workouts went, regardless of the participation he received from his players during the summer.
“You always wish for 100 percent participation, but I think the majority of our kids will be ready coming in and have to catch the others up to speed,” Martin said.
The Bucks will host a scrimmage against Benzie Central and Farwell on Aug. 19.
Martin also said his team will facilitate its practices during the morning and early afternoon and he plans on adding some team events into the plan later in the day.
