Pine River junior reflects on memorable week

LEROY — Brandon Hoaglund had quite a week for Pine River’s boys basketball team in a 3-0 clip that included victories Evart. Lake City and McBain to take the Class C district title in Evart.

Hoagland,a  junior, had a key shot block late in the game against McBain along with other key plays.

“We all worked very hard and moved the ball really good,” Hoaglund said after the victory over Evart, adding that the team concept “has been really important. We just want to move the ball. We don’t care who gets the bucket. We want to get the W.

“We have things to work on. We’re playing well. We need to work on rebounding and cutting off baseline.”

Winning the conference was sweet.

“It was a confidence booster going into districts,“ Hoaglund said. “We want districts.”
