LEROY —  Tyler Signor is among the wrestlers coming off a strong season for Pine River.

A highlight for Signor was finishing second at the Reed City Invitational. A junior, he entered the state finals at 34-11. He was an individual state qualifier.

He was happy with his wrestling late in the year. He said he improved a "ton" from last season. A key was coming to morning workouts, Signor added.

His fireman's move was among his strengths this season. He had been working to improve on his inside leg reach.

As the season progressed, Signor's goal was to make it to state and help his team go to team state. Both goals were achieved. The Bucks advance to the state semifinals before their season ended.

"You have to wrestle smart," he said.

The Bucks were disappointed they weren't able to get past the semifinal match. Signor is among the returning seniors who will try to help Pine River achieve that goal next season.
