Pine River girls third, boys fifth at Lake City
LEROY — The Pine River track teams were at the Lake City Invitational on Friday with the girls taking third and the boys finishing fifth.
Leading the girls was Logan Powell, who placed second in the 100 and 200 meters, and was part of the first-place 800 relay team along with Shiloh Ruppert, Kenzie Ruppert, and Anna Lindquist.
For the boys, Elijah Lewis set a PR in the long jump (20 feet, seven inches).
Nathan Park had a solid night in distance along with Roger Barnett, who had a PR in both events.
Pine River ran at Beal City on May 3 with the girls taking an 82-75 loss and the boys falling 98-59.
For the girls, Powell was first in the 100 meters (14.05), and was second in the 200 meters (29.14), Lindquist was second in the 400 meters (1:08.26), and second in the 800 meters (2:43.8), Anselma Barnett was third in the 1,600 meters (6:04.4), and second in the 3,200 meters (13:34.20), Shiloh Ruppert won the 100-meter hurdle (17.95), and was third in the 300-meter hurdles (55.88), Clara Umbreit (26-2) and Vanessa Pyne (24-5 ½) were one-two in the shot put, Umbreit (84-0) and Kelly Witherspoon (81-5) were one-two in the discus, and Ally Bannon won the high jump (4-8).
For the Pine River boys, Lewis (12.30) and Hunter Esiline (12.44) were one-two in the 100 meters, Lewis and Hartline were one-two in the 200 meters (25.50), Derek Hartline won the 400 meters (55.69), Nathan Park was first (2:20.0) and Dylan Stephens third (2:27.80) in the 800, Aaron Arnold was second in the 300 hurdles (47.8) Brady Loop was third in the discus (93-9), Esiline (5-8) and Lewis (5-8) were one-two in the high jump while Lewis (17-10) and Esiline (17-1 ½) were one-two in the long jump.
Pine River is at Ogemaw Heights on Friday.
