“We started our day strong playing great against St. Francis in our first set,” Bucks coach Jana Dennis said. “However, we let ourselves get consumed by the little things and that is where we need to focus our attention.

“We did play well against Sparta and overcame one of the bumps that have been standing in our way. This season is a journey and we need to continue to focus on the process and the results will change.”

Pine River’s overall record is 9-14-5.

On Sept. 13, Pine River lost to McBain 25-20, 25-10, 25-22.

Justin had six kills and seven digs, Stokely added six digs and Powell added 14 assists

“We played a very good team and they got the better of us,” Dennis said. “However, I saw great tenacity from my girls. They played with heart and that mentality of playing for each other will prove itself soon. I look forward to what the rest of the season holds.”

Pine River is 0-1 in the Highland Conference.
