LEROY — Brandon Hoaglund is among the talented players on a strong Pine River team that will be taking a lot of depth into the post-season.

The Bucks enter the last week of the regular season with the goal of playing their best baseball going into the pre-districts next Tuesday at home against Lake City.

Hoaglund, a senior, has been on the varsity two seasons and has been batting around .300 and noted after recent games like against Evart last week that his hitting has been improving.

“My hitting has been a lot better this year than last year,” Hoaglund said. “Coach Ruppert has been showing us how to do stuff. He’s helping us with our batting stances.”

Hoaglund has been playing center field with the Bucks. He’s been effective going after flyballs and using his arm.

]”We’re playing really well right now,” he said. “We’re not having many errors.”

The Bucks host districts next week. They play at home against Lake City on Tuesday.

“We’re confident,” Hoaglund said.
