Pine River 60, Grand Traverse Academy 40

TRAVERSE CITY — Four Bucks scored 10-plus points in Friday’s win. Elijah Lewis had 12 points and Trenton Holmes had 11, while Sasha Huffman and Lane Ruppert scored 10 points apiece.

The win was Pine River’s third win in four days.

Pine River (5-11, 2-8) was scheduled to host Brethren on Tuesday.

Pine River 48, Roscommon 46

ROSCOMMON — Trenton Holmes nailed a free-throw in the closing seconds as the Bucks held on for the road win.

Elijah Lewis led the Bucks with 18 points and Holmes had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Lane Rupert had five rebounds and five assists.

“We played poorly on offense in first half,” head coach Brian Goodenow said. “We didn’t take our first lead until we went up 42-41 in the fourth.”

McBain NMC 44, Pine River 31

LEROY — McBain held a 16-15 lead at halftime and was able to build on it for the win.

Logan Powell led the Bucks with 17 points and five steals. KayLee Goodman had eight points and six rebounds.

Pine River (9-9, 5-6) was scheduled to be at Harrison on Tuesday.

Evart girls ninth

HOLTON — Evart’s season ended its performance in the Division 4.

“It was kind of a rough day for us,” Evart coach Marty Pattee said. “The girls had a few mistakes and it cost us. I’m lucky in that I will have many that will return next year. We’ll continue to progress onward and upward hopefully.”
