KENT CITY — Pine River boys were fourth and the Reed City boys seventh at the Kent City Invitational Friday.

Fruitport won with 130.5 points while, Pine River had 69 and Reed City 48.

For Reed City, Jon Green was second in the 100-meter dash (11.75),

Andre Jones third in the 200-meter dash (24.12), Brad Marek fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.72) and seventh in the 300-meter hurdles (45.38), T.J. Patterson sixth in the shot put (44-02.5) and discus (131-3), Jon Green fourth in the discus (135-7) and Zack Borst third in the high jump (5-10).

“Our thrower had a nice night,” Reed City co-coach Brent Michell said. “We had a bunch of kids gone on a band trip and will have other kids gone next weekend on a trip to Chicago. So we didn’t have our normal team.”

For Pine River, Cole Gingrich was first in the pole-vault (8-9) and fifth in the 100-meter dash (11.91), Ben Rigling fourth in the 800-meter run (2:04.52) and sixth in the 1,600-meter run (4:40.75), Mark Geer sixth in the 3,200-meter run (10:40.52), the 4x100 relay team of Colten Rawson, Cole Gingrich, Nick Truax and Brandon Fulks was third (46.41) and Rawson first in the long jump (20-6) and third in the pole vault (11-9)

The Pine River girls were seventh with 45 points and the Reed City Coyotes 15th with 10.5 points. Reed City’s Hannah Price was second in the 100 hurdles (17.00).

“She tweaked her hamstring so we said ‘no more running for her,’” Michell said. “I know it was pretty cool and windy and it wasn’t ideal conditions. As the day went on, it got pretty cold.”

Also for Reed City, Keylee Aemisegger was sixth in the high jump (4-6) and was 14th in the 100-meter dash (14.58) and Emily Libey was 15th in the 100 meters (14.59),

Placing for Pine River were Anna Lindquist third in the 400 meters (1:06.53) and Lauren Stephens sixth (1:07.23), Olivia Thompson sixth in the 800 meters (2:42.93) and the foursome of Autumn Dutka, Thompson, Lindquist and Holly Bailor was fifth (11;05.19). Mary Ware and Robyn Peppey were two-three (31-11 and 31-2.75) in the shot put, Ware was first in the discus (114-3) and Peppey sixth (86-7)

Pine River has its home invitational on Saturday.

Reed City runs at Newaygo Tuesday against Tri County and is at Bay City Western Friday.
