EVART – Kirsten Parsons is in her second varsity volleyball season at Evart and is hoping to help the younger Wildcats experience stronger success on the court.

Parsons, a junior, said it was interesting to play at the varsity level last season.

“I improved a ton,” said Parsons, a hitter and blocker, adding that she attended a volleyball camp at Ferris State.

As a middle hitter, her role has basically stayed the same as a year ago.

“We’re playing together really well,” she said. “We’re pulling it

together.”

Evart changed coaches with Jayme Maddern taking over but Parsons said the team has been able to make a smooth transition.

As a hitter, Parsons said during games, she’s just focusing on getting the ball over.

“During games, I hit it hard,” she said. “During practice, I hit it hard.”

Parsons said her serving has improved. The team is working to improve on communication and backing each other up.

There’s 11 on the team.
