BIG RAPIDS—TEN STARS FROM LAST WEEK 

Star: Reed City's Bryson Hughes helped power Reed City's offense to a 62-17 win over Newaygo with 89 yards on six attempts and two touchdowns, he also had one reception for 38 yards and a touchdown, and returned one kickoff 97 yards for a fourth touchdown.

Star: Big Rapid's Brenna Mossel had 30 assists and two aces in a 3-1 win over Central Montcalm.

Star: Big Rapid's Wil Strickler threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns while running for 81 yards and a touchdown in a 41-0 win over Grant.

Star: Reed City's Christina Malackanich had four aces, 11 kills and 12 digs and three blocks in a 3-0 win over Newaygo.

Star: Evart's Cole Hopkins helped lead the Wildcats to a 48-20 win by rushing for 193 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries. On defense Hopkins had ten tackles and a fumble recovery.

Star: Chippewa Hills' Gage Saathoff was 13-of-19 for 146 yards and had three rushing touchdowns in a 42-0 win over Lakeview.

Star: Reed City's Nora Smoes won the Cecil R Burch Memorial Invitational with a time of 21:43:20.

Star: Big Rapid's Owen Westerkamp won the 2 Mile Kelder Poured Walls Invitational at the Mason County Fairgrounds with a time of 11:08.56.

Star: Morley Stanwood's Alaina Christensen led the Mohawks with ten kills on the evening to go along with four aces and six digs in a 3-1 win over Tri-County.

Star: Chippewa Hill's Ryleigh Allen (172), earned a medal for being in the top 10 in the Katke Golf Course Classic.  Allen had 18-hole scores of 85 and 87.


Top three football teams 

1-Evart: The Wildcats bounced back with a 48-20 win over McBain. 

2-Reed City: The Coyotes were unstoppable on offense in a 62-17 win over Newaygo.

3-Big Rapids: The Cardinals stayed cooking with a 47-0 win over Grant.


Top three volleyball teams 

1-Morley Stanwood: The Mohawks won 3-1 over Tri County on Thursday before falling in the quarterfinals in Chippewa Hills Invitational to Alma.

2-Reed City: The Coyotes won 3-0 over Newaygo on Thursday, bouncing back after a 3-0 loss to Kent City. They sit at 5-2 in conference play.

3-Big Rapids: The Cardinals won 3-1 over Central Montcalm on Tuesday.

Other top teams 

Big Rapids boys tennis: The Cardinals finished the regular season at the DeWitt Quad on Saturday, going 3-0 with wins over DeWitt, Ionia and Sandusky. The Cardinals finish the regular season at 23-7-1.

Reed City cross country: The boys team took first at the Cecil R Burch Memorial with a score of 44. The girls team placed second with a score of 81.
