REED CITY — Volleyball practices start this week and the Coyotes will be the first official team to use a brand new gymnasium floor.

The gym floor was completed on Aug. 2.

“There were some varsity boys doing a shootaround over the week,” athletic director Kris Griffin said.

As she settles into her new role as AD, Griffin realizes there are other facility concerns.

“One of our biggest things we would like to look at in the near future is our track,” she said. “It’s in pretty rough shape.”

The athletic boosters purchased a new scoreboard for the football field. There are also two new ticket booths.

“We’ll have a Coyote arch that will go over the top of those. The boosters have been really been involved,” said Griffin, a former booster vice president.

New scoreboards for the gym is another project being worked on, Griffin added.
