EVART — In her senior season, Saige Nabozny is making valuable contributions for a young Evart girls basketball team that continues to be competitive in the Highland Conference.

A victory at home over Manton last week was a true case in point as Nabozny and her teammates made an impressive comeback to get the W. The offense came back in an impressive way in the second half.

“The more we shot the more we made,” Nabozny said. ”We started pressing fullcourt and started shooting from the outside, making our 3-pointers.”

Nabozny and her teammates, were able to muster enough defense and offense to get the win.

It was the best 3-point shooting game for herself and the team, Nabozny noted.

]”This was a good win for us,” Nabozny said, looking at the conference standings.

The Wildcats had been off with snow days and school cancellations and were able to dust off the cobwebs.

“We were a little tired, we want to get back in shape,” she said. “It will get us ready for our next game.”

With only seven players, Nabozny and her teammates have been putting in plenty of court time. But she likes the way the team has responded.

“I’m a little out of shape but I’d say I’m getting up there,” she said.
