Mund confident Coyotes can do well at districts
REED CITY — Reed City junior guard Matt Mund could sense after a recent 53-50 Coyote overtime victory against Chippewa HiIls that this team was gaining the momentum needed to have success for the rest of the season.
“Defensively, we did a pretty good job,” Mund said after a recent win. “We can do a lot better than what we’re playing.”
The focus needs to be defensive play and smart passes, Mund added.
The Coyotes are 2-0 against Chippewa HiIls this season, but they play the Warriors Wednesday night at Clare in the Class B Districts. The winner faces either Big Rapids or Harrison in Friday’s title game.
His team needs to attack and play good defense in the next game against the Warriors, Mund said.
Mund started out the season strong, but sustained a concussion and missed five games. But the Coyotes have him back in their lineup. His role is simple: to score
“It has been going as good as before,” Mund said. But he still is set to be a factor for his team whenever he’s in the lineup.
Right now, the Coyotes are focusing on Chippewa Hills and a spot in the district title game.
“I think we can win it,” he said.
