REED CITY -- Maddie Morgan will now start preparing for her senior season as a Reed City softball pitcher.

But she enjoyed volleyball season while it lasted.

Morgan and the Coyotes beat Manistee 3-0 and Benzie Central 3-0 in district action last week at Big Rapids. Reed City takes on Benzie Central tonight in a semifinal district game.

"We had good serves and our passing was good tonight," Morgan said after the win over Manistee.

Morgan is in her second season as the Reed City varsity libero.

As a senior, she indicated she's having her best season.

"I'm strong as a passer," Morgan said. "The key is staying low and watching the ball all the way to your platform."

The Coyotes have been below .500 this season but had a major highlight with the district wins.

"There's always room for improvement," Morgan said.

The team has improved all season.

Morgan said she's focused on softball when the volleyball season ends. But it's been a fun season.

"We're all really close," she said.
