MARION -- Marion's girls had recent girls basketball wins, including a 30-25 verdict over Mason County Eastern.

It was 14-10, MCE, at halftime.

MCE really confused us at times tonight, and we were out of sync a lot. But, our kids just stayed with it," Marion coach Matt Lagrow. "We did not allow ourselves to get frustrated, and kept working. It was a great team effort."

Georgia Meyer had eight points and eight rebounds, Isabelle Bontekoe, six points and nine rebounds and Oghosasse Osadiaye had six points and six rebounds.

The JVs won 28-14. Emily Krchmar had 10 points, Nolah Grundy had eight points, and Ana Batonovic had six points.

Marion beat Mesick 32-29. Marion had a 9-0 edge in the fourth quarter.

"We started out a little slow, and put Mesick at the line 18 times in the first half," Lagrow said. "That is something that we have to get under control, but, we were able to overcome because of our ball security.

"As a team we only had 11 turnovers, which was the best of the season. Several kids stepped up to keep it close and we were really locked in the entire fourth quarter with almost every kid recording a steal."

Bontekoe had 10 points and nine rebounds, Meyer had eight points and eight rebounds, and Osadiaye had five points and five rebounds.

The JVs won 26-22, Harley Bear had 10 points, Krchmar had six points, and Batonovic had five points.
