REED CITY — Emily Libey completed a sophomore season recently for Reed City's girls basketball team and is looking forward to two more seasons with the Coyotes.

The team finished 10-11.

She was impressed with how the team played defensively. Midway in the season Reed City was 5-6. At that time, Libey was still confident.

"It's going pretty well," she said. "We've faced some hard teams. I  think we're definitely coming back."

Libey and teammates from the 2015-16 won't soon forget a dramatic moment a year ago over Clare. The Coyotes knocked off Clare during the regular season.

At times during the season, Libey was somewhat disappointed.

"But my defense was good," she said after the Clare game. "I'd like to drive a little more and get some fouls."

She continually worked on various aspects of her game.

The Coyotes only graduated one senior in Meghan Borst. Libey is hoping to work together with her teammates to have a strong 2017-18 season.
