REED CITY — Brad Halladay maintains a busy summer schedule at Spring Valley Golf Course and loves every minute of it.

Halladay has been in the Sunday scramble, along with the men’s leagues on Tuesday and Thursday, plus the Friday Night mixed league as a sub.

It’s his sixth year in the Sunday scramble league. He lives in LeRoy.

The two men’s league have some unique aspects.

“Thursday is actually two-man team and they golf with head-to-head scores and handicap figured in,” Halladay said. “Tuesday night is individual golf. You play on your own. You win money for first, second and third.”

The Sunday scramble and Friday mixed league also enjoy their own uniqueness.

“Everybody is out to have fun,” Halladay said. “It’s all about having fun. You get into Thursday night men, that’s more serious, Tuesday night is pretty serious.”

Halladay also likes to golf other courses including the Rose in LeRoy and Lakewood in Cadillac. He tends to average in the high 30s and low 40s for nine holes.

Two years ago Halladay aced No. 4. The strength of his game “depends on which day I play,” Halladay smiled.

His summer is far from over. All four Spring Valley Leagues he’s in will go into September. The Sunday scramble league ends Sept. 21 while the Tuesday Men’s League concludes Sept. 16 and the couples league wraps up Sept. 19. The Thursday men’s league closes Sept. 18.
