EVART — Trevin Ladd put together strong performances for Evart's boys basketball team in a season that ended with a 9-12 record on Friday in the district tournament against Pine River.

The Wildcats had an improved season but were 0-3 in three close losses to Pine River.

"The key is to play one full compete game," Ladd said. "We struggle when we play just three quarters and don't play a full game."

The Wildcats were hopeful going into the district last week and needing consistency. They struggled in shooting in a 42-35 loss to Pine River in a district semifinal game.

It was Ladd's third year on the varsity, and his best one, he indicated.

"My role has been the same, probably this year to be more of a leader and be more vocal," Ladd said. "I've been smarter on defense and seeing the floor better overall and having good vision on offense."

Ladd and his teammates will focus on the spring sports season at Evart with baseball and track.
