Justin playing huge role for Pine River volleyball

LEROY — Pine River junior Jamie Justin has been playing a key role for the Bucks’ volleyball team this fall.

“We’ve been improving as the season has gone on,” Justin said.

It’s her second varsity season. She’s playing front and back rows.

“I think my passing has gotten a lot better,” Justin said. “I think my serving is my strength. I think I’m hitting good spots and I’m hitting it hard.”

Justin, also a basketball player for Pine River, had a chance to work with the volleyball team during the offseason.

“Our communication and paralleling when we pass,” has been a key focus at practice-time, Justin noted. “We’ve been passing pretty good, and I think our serving is good. I think we can do pretty good. We have a chance at winning a lot of games.”

Pine River returned five players from last season.”We’re a pretty well-rounded team,” Justin said.

Pine River is home Thursday against Reed City.
