STANTON - Local track and field teams participated in the Central State Activities Association Gold Division junior varsity meet on Tuesday (May 25) at Central Montcalm.

For Reed City boys, Seth Jackson won the 200 meters (25.64), Elijah and Izaiah Lentz were second (57.23) and third (57.68) in the 400 meters, and third (2:22.84) and fourth (2:31.55) in the 800 meters.

For Reed City girls, Emma Emmorey won the 100-meter hurdles (19.56) and 300 hurdles (59.63).

"I enjoy having the JV meet at the end of the season," Reed City coach Brad Smith said. "The number of PRs that showed up was impressive. I think the kids relax a little knowing that they are only competing against athletes their age and they feel more comfortable and are able to finally perform where they have been in practices."
