Harrison set for junior soccer season
REED CITY — Reed City junior Taylor Harrison has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old and is ready for another season.
Harrison ran cross country in the fall and played basketball in the winter.
It’s her third varsity soccer season.
The Coyotes started soccer practices on Monday. The first game is set for home on April 3 against Shelby.
“I was very happy with our season last year,” Harrison said. “I thought we had amazing improvement.”
Reed City finished above .500.
Harrison plays center-mid fielder.
“My role will be the same as last year,” she said. “I’m there to move the ball up the field.”
After a season of basketball, it’s time for the transition to soccer.
“I’m working on getting the ball back on my feet,” Harrison said. “Soccer is my favorite so it won’t take long (to adjust). But the sooner we get outside (the better).”
Harrison and the Coyotes hope to be a factor in the CSAA.
“I think we’ll be decent this year,” she said. “I’m excited. We have a lot of new teams on the schedule. Big Rapids and Reed City are usually really good.”
