REED CITY — Taylor Harrison has returned from an injury to the Reed City girls basketball lineup and the Coyotes plan on reaping the benefits.

Harrison recently returned to the lineup for a young Reed City squad which has started out 0-4 but had an encouraging performance on Friday in a narrow 41-40 loss to Grant.

She was back in the lineup after spraining her ankle during preseason. But she acknowledged it will take a few games.

“I’m not going to be 100 percent in no time,” Harrison said a few days prior the opener. “I’m hoping I’ll be back soon.”

Harrison served as a role player for the Coyotes last season. Defense is a key strength.

“I have to work on my offense,” Harrison said. “We lost a lot from last year.”

Harrison hopes to drive as much as possible and put points on the board.

“I can shoot threes,” Harrison said. “You have to make sure your feet are set.”

Harrison also runs cross country in the fall and plays soccer in the spring.

She also played with her basketball teammates during the summer.

“We’ll have to work together as a team,” Harrison said.
