EVART – Brooklyn Decker has been an outstanding player for Evart in various sports and it includes volleyball during the fall.

Coach Amanda Brown will be relying on Decker to do plenty of things for her on the volleyball court. Decker was an outstanding player for the Evart softball team which finished runner-up in the state in Division 3.

Last season was Decker’s first in varsity volleyball.

“It went good,” she said. “It was fun.”

Decker is a middle attacker for the Wildcats and also plays back row.

“My serving is getting better,” Decker said. “I want to work on blocks and tipping and knowing where to hit my spots when I’m hitting.”

The Wildcats were home against Harrison on Thursday and will be at Roscommon next Thursday. Evart also faced stiff competition in the Reed City Invitational last Saturday.

“I think it should be a good year for the team,” Decker said. I think our front row play should be pretty good. We need to play together all the time.”

Almost all of the Evart volleyball players partake in one or two other sports. Decker also plays basketball and softball and indicated those are her two favorite sports
