The Coyotes will have a scrimmage at Montague on Thursday, Aug. 16, Prior to the season opener at Big Rapids on Aug. 24, the first home game is Aug. 30 against Morley Stanwood.

“The kids enjoy it,” Craven said of the midnight gathering. “It’s fun to get it started and get it going.”

Evart will scrimmage Aug. 16 at St. Louis against the host school, Sanford Meridian and Tawas.

Evart’s first game is Aug. 24 at Suttons Bay.
