Evart volleyball squad hungry for wins
EVART – Jessica Tea is coming off an injury and is hoping to help the Evart Wildcats enjoy success in the final weeks of the volleyball season.
Tea has normally been on varsity but has also played JV action. The action, she noted, is so much faster at the higher level of play.
“At the beginning of the season, hitting was a strength,” Tea said, noting that blocking has taken center stage for her in recent weeks when she was wearing a cast after a wrist injury. She was out for three weeks.
“I still practice with my cast on,” she said. “We want to have a game and have a better attitude if we get in a hole.”
The districts are next week.
“We're working on teamwork,” said coach Jayme Maddern, noting that a consistent rash of injuries have been a challenge for the team. “It's been an adjustment having everyone back because we've been playing without most of them.”
