EVART – Cadence Lawrence was a unique performer in her senior season for Evart.

It was only her second volleyball year in high school as she hadn’t played since her freshman season.

“It’s my senior year,” Lawrence said on her decision to come out for volleyball in 2021. “I just took a break from sports because I wanted to work.”

Lawrence played back row left side for the Wildcats.

“I was there for covering the hitters,” she said. “I hustle a lot and dive for the ball a lot.”

Since she was out of volleyball two years, when Lawrence returned, “it took me awhile to adjust,” she said. “I usually started out really nervous.”

Lawrence has had some top moments on the court and said she’s glad she came out this season.

“I like being with the team and watching everybody,” Lawrence said. “I like the game.”

She also plays softball. Amanda Brown is Evart’s coach in both sports. She also has done cheer and may be with the competitive cheer team, this seasom, coached by Martee Pattee.

The volleyball team was 6-27 but kept showing signs of improvement, Lawrence said. The team had to battle bouts of illnesses throughout the season.
