EVART — Evart’s volleyball team, has had a solid summer of practices, and players like Katie Rueffer and Carly Dellar are ready and optimistic to start playing.

Rueffer will be a sophomore for the Wildcats and will play either JV or varsity. She’s been practicing as much as possible, either at Evart open gyms or at home.

Summer volleyball “is really helpful,” she said after a recent meeting.

She’s usually a middle hitter, but has been working on her skills at open gyms.

Rueffer played basketball at one time but now focuses on volleyball.

Dellar is another sophomore who will find out after tryouts, which start on Aug. 16 if she’ll be on the JV or varsity

She’s usually a setter and has been working on her setting and serving talents at the open gyms.

“They’re helpful,” she said.

Dellar has played volleyball since seventh grade and said it’s a popular sport at Evart.

“I play a lot a home,” she said.

The Wildcats officially start practices on Aug. 14. The first match is home with Shelby on Aug. 19.
