EVART — A strong running game and defensive effort lifted the Evart football team to a 34-0 victory over McBain on Friday.

The Wildcats rushed for more than 330 yards on the ground, while holding the Ramblers to just 46 yards.

John Danley led the way for Evart with 14 carries for 124 yards and three touchdowns — on runs of 2, 72, and 3 yards. Austin Grein added a 62-yard touchdown run and Jared Pattee chipped in a 28 yard run.

Robert Burge led the defensive effort with 11 tackles, while Danley tallied 10 stops. Larry VanBuren recorded nine tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery and Derek Bowen and Pattee had interceptions.

Evart improves to 5-1 and will face Lake City next week.
